One Christmas Eve, one hundred years ago, in a small Germanic town, Dr Stahlbaum's family celebrates with a party, and his two children, Clara and Fritz, look with admiration at the beautiful Christmas tree. Drosselmeyer gives his goddaughter Clara a special Christmas present - a Nutcracker in the shape of an officer. And the younger brother wanted it too. He snatched the nutcracker out of Clara's hand and accidentally broke it, but Drosselmeyer quickly repaired it. It was night, but Clara could not sleep, so she stole out of bed and went softly down the stairs to see her beloved Nutcracker. To the hall, she found the Nutcracker and held it tightly in her arms and climbed to the sofa, did not expect to fall asleep in a haze.
At that moment the clock struck twelve, and the hall shook with dark shadows. Suddenly a large group of mice broke into the parlour, scurried around, and began to attack Clara. At this time, Grandpa Drosselmeyer told Clara that the Nutcracker could protect her, and at this time the hall flashed with colourful lights. The Christmas tree grows taller. The Nutcracker comes to life and leads a group of toys to fight the mouse soldiers. The mice are strong and the Nutcracker is at a disadvantage. Clara picks up a sword and rushes towards the king of the mice to give him a fatal blow. The mice carried their king away in defeat. The Nutcracker was also badly injured, when suddenly by a miracle, the Nutcracker recovered and turned into a handsome prince to take Clara to a kingdom of sweets. They went through the Christmas tree forest. A group of snowflake fairies accompanied them, humming and dancing, and the prince and the snow queen danced a pas de deux. Clara was mesmerised.
From then on, the Nutcracker was a sacred, heroic symbol, and many homes and storefronts had Nutcrackers in various shapes and sizes for peace and good luck.
